Words of wisdom from Leo Laporte

"I hate linkbait. It's true, linkbait works short term. But linkbait never works long term. I think ultimately, the only way to succeed long term is to provide people with useful, good content that they come back to over and over again. That's true for blogs, radio, tv, everything."

LEO LAPORTE

When I was in high school, I used to rush home every day to catch The Screen Savers on TechTV. Leo Laporte was the host, and he just talked, for a few hours every day, about technology and the internet. It was my first real introduction to the industry of Web 2.0.

I was thinking about this a few days ago-- if The Screen Savers wasn't on TechTV, I might not be where I am. I might not have grown interested in the internet. Leo Laporte was kind of my teenage hero, and I think in some ways he guided my interest in the web.
