Sigh...if you only ever see the area around the northern Turnpike, then you get George Carlin's impression: "'Garden State'? Sure, if you're growing smokestacks." Yes, the Turnpike corridor is a post-apocalyptic dystopia. No contest.But there's a ton of beauty in New Jersey, if you venture off the path.
